11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.: Workshop 2: Swingouts from Anywhere

1:45 – 2:45 p.m.: Workshop 3: No More Sad Charleston
3:00 – 4:00 p.m.: Workshop 4: Tandem…Now What?
7:00 – 11:00 p.m.: Downtown Swing Dance
Odd Fellows Hall, 223 SW 2nd St.
1. Six vs. Eight: Students will learn the how to lead/follow the difference between six-count and eight-count patterns. These exercises will allow the dancer to understand a more versatile and complicated way of looking at footwork in Lindy.
2. Swingouts from Anywhere: We all know our swingout, swingout from closed, and Lindy Circle. It’s time to mix things up a bit. We will demonstrate some of our more innovative solutions of getting to a swingout while in the strangest of dance positions.
3. No More Sad Charleston: Side by Side Charleston is a fantastic move with so much energy and so many possibilities. We are going to give your Charleston a kick in the butt! Instead of using Charleston as a break, we will use it to energize our dance.
4. Tandem…Now What?: We may all know a move or two into Tandem and maybe even a way out of it. What can we do while we are actually IN tandem? We will be learning some new entrances and exits and some very fun, totally leadable, variations.
Reservations for the weekend are available at rsvp.corvallisswing.com. A full pass includes admission to the workshops on Saturday and social dance Saturday evening. The cost is $40 in advance and $50 the day of the event.
Want to take just one or two lessons? Ok! You can pay at the workshop. The price is $12 per workshop. Dance admission is $5-7.
