This August, we’re carpooling up to Independence, Oregon to host our first ever out-of-town swing dance. We’ll be sharing the wider culture of swing dancing with the folks of this town.
The format will be similar to our regular dances, with an hour-long beginner lesson followed by two hours of social dancing.
6:20 p.m. Carpool to Independence
7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Intro swing lesson on Charleston taught by Lindsey Almarode and Kelley Hungerford
8:00 – 10:00 p.m. Dancing to DJed music by Zach Wallace, Dakota Trufant, and Eileen Tokuda
Our friends at Maxine’s Ballroom have a beautiful space in what was once the historic Odd Fellows building.
From downtown Corvallis, Independence is just over a 30 minute drive to the north, through scenic Willamette Valley countryside.
The ballroom is located at 120 C St. in the heart of downtown Independence, across from Riverview Park.
